Nick Agostino, CFA,MBA, P.Eng.
Director, Research Analyst

Nick Agostino joined Euro Pacific Canada in 2011 as a pioneering member of the firm's equity research group.

Nick has 10+ years of equity research experience. Most recently, Nick was a Starmine-ranked Research Analyst at a Canadian independent, where he covered a broad range of industry sectors, including rare earths, agriculture equipment, industrial products, and clean/hardware technology. Prior to this, Nick was a senior equity research associate with a large Canadian bank, where his technology group earned top rankings, and formerly a special situation associate with a large, international U.S. bank. In his career, Nick has always demonstrated an outstanding skill set for stock selection, with annual top picks consistently beating the TSX benchmark. Before entering the finance industry, Nick worked as an engineering consultant.

His broadcast credits include appearances on BNN, Bloomberg Radio, and 680 News. He is also quoted regularly in major print media, including The Globe & Mail, National Post, Associated Press, Canadian Press, Bloomberg, Reuters, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, Maclean's Magazine, and the Montreal Gazette.

Nick holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Schulich School of Business, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Profession Engineer (P.Eng.) designations.
Merrill McHenry, MBA, CFA
Metals and Mining Analyst

Merrill W. McHenry, MBA, CFA, has been in the investment business for over 27 years. Early in his career, as a portfolio manager he managed over US$1.5 billion in two U.S. mutual funds, and set up an international mining merchant bank visiting mine project sites on multiple continents. As a mining analyst he has provided research to both the buy and the sell sides; as well as prominent global investors. Mr. McHenry is a member of the CFA Institute, and the Toronto CFA Society.


Ahmad Shaath, MBA
Research Associate

Prior to entering the finance industry, Ahmad worked in software development for one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East.  Ahmad holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Financial Engineering from the Schulich School of Business, and he is a CFA Level II Candidate. Mr. Shaath is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
